Research in a recent book reported that: Follow-up, or what we refer to as accountability, is one of the most significant determining factors in whether or not change actually occurs for people. The act of making yourself accountable sends a signal to the world, and to your mind, that you are really serious about change.

There are a lot of things that converge positively and powerfully when we make a decision to move forward in our lives personally and professionally, and make the bold step of taking action.

There is something else that is guaranteed to show up when we make that decision – obstacles. There is no straight line to a goal. Obstacles are one of the strongest impediments to achieving our goals, and they often stop us in our tracks.

They stop us, not so much because they are so strong or formidable, but because they cause us to lose sight of our goal. An obstacle by definition blocks your vision, however, your mind has the power to see and achieve the goal regardless of the obstacle.

The power of locking onto your goal and using the powerful principles you have gained or will gain during this accountability program is that you will see right past or through those obstacles to your goal.

When you stay focused, your mind, like a kick-off return man in the NFL, will make adjustments, move around the obstacles, find the holes and accelerate when they’re open to get to the goal – in his case the end zone – instinctively, creatively, and with great determination.
